GRADUATE TRAINEES


Are you interested in pursuing an MS or PhD degree in Health and Human Physiology? Do you want to train in a collaborative, team-orientated environment? If so, please reach out to Dr. Bunsawat to inquire further. 


We seek applicants with a particular interest in integrative human physiology in the context of age- and sex-related health disparities. Specific research will focus on: 

  • Understanding mechanisms and physiological consequences of autonomic and vascular dysfunction.
  • Identifying lifestyle and nutra/pharmacological strategies to improve the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.
  • Women's health. 

Application deadlines

  • Feb 1 for Fall admission.
  • Oct 1 for Spring admission. 

Information

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree (or strong undergraduate student) in Integrative Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Neuroscience, Human Biology, Medical Physiology, Rehabilitation Science, or related fields. 

  • Prior experience in integrative or applied human physiology research.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English).

  • Interpersonal skills for collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team-oriented environment.

GRADUATE STUDENTS WILL GAIN EXPERIENCE IN

  • Critical knowledge and technical skills in neurovascular and exercise physiology (i.e., Doppler ultrasound, microneurography, functional capacity testing, blood flow and blood pressure measures, etc.).

  • Scientific communications via presentations, publications, grant writing, and interactions with peers and faculty.

  • Networking via conferences, events, and related platforms with peers, faculty, alumni, and professionals.

  • Leadership and teamwork through collaboration on projects, peer-mentoring, and career stage-appropriate leadership roles within the Department or Professional Society.

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH


We welcome undergraduate students who are interested in gaining biomedical research experience through a voluntary basis, an independent study,  and/or honors in the major.
