Kanokwan (Mandy) Bunsawat, PhD

Dr. Bunsawat is an Assistant Professor of Health, Sport, and Human Physiology at the University of Iowa and a Research Health Science Specialist at the Iowa City VA Health Care System. Dr. Bunsawat received a BS in Exercise Science from Skidmore College and a PhD in Kinesiology and Nutrition from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Upon graduation, Dr. Bunsawat joined the Utah Vascular Research Laboratory to complete her postdoctoral training in Neurovascular Physiology and was later promoted to Research Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine (Division of Geriatrics) at the University of Utah. Dr. Bunsawat has been a faculty member at the University of Iowa since 2026. In addition, Dr. Bunsawat serves on the Editorial Board for the American Journal of Physiology - Heart & Circulatory Physiology, American Journal of Physiology - Cell Physiology, Journal of Applied Physiology, and Experimental Physiology.
